When the calendar hits the month of November, it causes me to reflect on the holidays of Thanksgiving and Veterans Day. I believe it is a time where all of us as Americans can united and not divide. As a financial advisor, the opportunity to guide families through life’s financial journeys is a privilege-and these national celebrations offer a chance to deepen those connections through a shared gratitude and appreciation of family and service.
The Power of Thankfulness
Thanksgiving serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of thankfulness and gratitude in our lives, our work, and our relationships. Expressing thanks-whether to clients, colleagues, or simply life’s everyday blessings-creates emotional stability, fosters stronger relationships, and opens the door to better decisions, financially or just day-to-day decisions. A heartfelt “thank you” is not just good manners; it is a bedrock for meaningful guidance and trust.
Veterans Day: Honoring Service and Sacrifice
On Veterans Day, we celebrate those who have served and sacrificed to preserve our freedoms. Recognizing their courage and commitment should inspire us to live with gratitude for the opportunities we enjoy -economic, personal, or professional. Making the effort to thank veterans personally, support veteran causes, or simply reflect on the diversity or strength that military connected families bring to our communities helps us reinforce the value of unity and shared purpose.
Finding Common Ground
Both Veterans Day and Thanksgiving unite Americans across generations, cultures, and backgrounds. Thes holidays hopefully remind us, regardless of our individual circumstances, we share a deep-seated desire for security, prosperity, and connection. As an advisor, pointing out similarities can help break down barriers, foster understanding, and creating a space where every client’s story is valued.
Use November as a time to share some small gestures of thanks or kindness. Ultimately, being thankful during November is about celebrating what we have in common and a commitment to supporting each other to build a brighter future together. At Meikle Financial Group, we want everyone to understand how thankful we are to be able to call you clients, friends and family.
